Voter turnout was the highest ever for the constituency candidate selection.   Derek Moran, Bexley Green Party Co-ordinator, who also stood, gained 42% of the vote.

Roisin Robertson has represented the Green Party in general and local elections; standing in Bromley & Chislehurst in the 2015 general election and tripled the number of Green votes cast in that area.

Roisin said: ‘I would like to thank everyone for their support for my candidacy.  There are many challenges across the area, including encroachment of our green belt, extensions to Biggin Hill Airport, threats to our community libraries and developments in Bromley town centre.  In Bexley, the Council’s decision to sell off green areas for development  means the future of Old Farm Park is in danger, as well as problems posed by the proposed Silvertown Tunnel and plans for bridges across the Thames in Bexley.  If anyone has a concern, please contact me on roisin.robertson@greenparty.org.uk.’
